Jason Smith is a New York State licensed massage therapist. His emphasis is on deep tissue massage with an eastern fusion, combining aspects of Tui Na, the oldest known system of massage, and various western modalities such as Neuromuscular Therapy, Swedish Massage, and Connective Tissue/Myofascial Release. Jason started his bodywork education in San Diego, California, where he studied Traditional Chinese Medical theory, Tui Na, and Circulatory Massage. From there he continued on to the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy in Albany, NY where he received his New York State massage therapist certification. Since graduating, Jason has taken continuing education in Tui Na offered by Bill Helm, a Taoist priest who has been studying martial and healing arts since 1965. Prior to working at Esprit Wellness, Jason worked as a massage therapist under master acupuncturist Da Wei Zheng at a medical office in Manhattan. Here he was able to broaden his skills as a therapist by working with patients experiencing a variety of problems, including neuralgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, spinal stenosis, and various musculoskeletal issues. |
