Thank you Dr. Sid, Growing-up, I loved to be in the spotlight, participating in various academic, athletic, and artistic activities. When I was a sophomore in high school, though, my comfort in public settings rapidly diminished as a result of a discomforting, hump-like phenomenon that became noticeable in my back."You look like a hunch-back when you skate, dude. What's wrong with your back?" my hockey teammates began inquiring. Why do you slouch? Stand up straight!" theatre directors and forensic speech coaches demanded. Clearly, something was wrong, but I was in the dark as to what, except that soreness in my back was becoming a regular occurrence-especially after playing sports. Over time, unwanted attention regarding my back increased and I grew more self-conscious about my appearance. Even my parents joined in, "Steven, sit up straight! You're sticking you back out!" Sticking my back out-what does that even mean? With no helpful recommendations from any doctors, my life progressed with an escalating case of scoliosis, which has caused my ribcage to form the hump in my back. As I continued my hockey career in college, the soreness of my back intensified. My hump-as it unfortunately became popularly known-appeared to be enlarging. There was nothing I could do. Or so I thought. Disheartened, I began researching for some kind of miracle on-line, which lead me to Dr. Sid. Informing me of a program developed by the Clear Institute, Dr. Sid has provided me with the hope I have been so desperately seeking. A few days a week, I meet with Dr. Sid to perform a series of adjustments and exercises with a few machines to straighten out my back and eliminate my soreness. Although the movements and machines were a bit awkward at first, I easily got used to them, and the results are undeniably exciting. In addition to the support I receive from Dr. Sid and his gracious staff, I also perform exercises at home to strengthen my healing back. Since I started the program, the soreness has improved tenfold and, better yet, my despised hump is showing evidence of retreat. My single complaint about the Clear Institute program is that I wish it had become available to me earlier in life. As I am joined by numerous, younger (as well as older) patients in Dr. Sid's office who are dedicating themselves to the program, I cannot help but feel a sense of jealousy, wishing that my back could have been freed from pain and aesthetic embarrassment at a younger age. I am, however, forever grateful for what I have gained from the Clear Institute. Even after only a few months, my confidence is returning after its long absence. Just the other day, I received a compliment that I never imagined I would ever hear from an old friend: "You're standing straighter than when I last saw you. What have you been up to?"
Isn't it clear? Everything seems to be straightening out for me. Thank you, Dr. Sid and Clear Institute. Steven Cunning |
